The autumn anime season in 2015 astonished the audiences with the same plot twist in two completely different anime series: in both The Asterisk War and Chivalry of a Failed Knight, the main character meets the heroine while she is half-naked. This truly confused the audiences, especially because besides this twist (we’ll attribute it to the laziness of screenwriters), the two anime series have nothing else in common. Unlike its counterpart, The Asterisk War was renewed for Season 2.

Ayato Amagiri arrives at the famous Academy of Asterisk in search of his elder sister. In the world of the anime wars are things of the past - the great Invertia gave start to Genestella - these are children who use their superpowers to fight, protect, heal, etc.
But it’s boring to live in the world with no wars, so people came up with gladiator-like tournaments, Festas, between Genestella and ordinary humans. Six great academies compete against each other, and the competitions are held at the Asteriks Academy. Julis-Alexia, a young princess-warrior is looking to find a fighting partner.
Well, she will surely get one soon – the young man will get into her room through the window, find her almost naked and will be challenged by the perturbed princess to a fight. During their fight, Julis-Alexia will come to realize that Ayato is the fighting partner she has been looking for. Smooth narrative of The Asterisk War with very mesmerizing fights and a good portion of romantic intrigue capture the viewers’ attention. The anime series is also distinguished by the reluctance of the protagonist to take advantage of the given situation – young girls are literally throwing themselves at him, but he simply refuses to start any relationships with them that go beyond frienship. For director Yuu Miyazaki, Gakusen Toshi Asterisk was the TV debut that he surely succeeded in.
There is a good chance that we might see Season 3 of The Asterisk War as the popular manga is still coming out. THEY LEFT US WAITING FOR TWO YEARS TO TELL US WERE NOT GETTING A SEASON 3?! They left such a big cliff hanger with the next Asterisk war fiesta coming up with teams of 4 and one of my favorite characters is playing in it with Ayato. I want to see the lady with the twin death swords (I'm forgetting her name since it's been so long I've watched it) but anyways I wanna see her take EVERYDOWN AND ACCONPLOSH HER GOALS!!! A-1 pictures. -> I'm so disappointed in you guys. I really wish their was a fanbase studio that would make extra seasons on animes that arent getting anymore season for either being canceled, or something happening to the author or whatever.
Just like the anime 'GATE', I believe that's the anime where the author died of cancer or he got caught up for tax fraud. Either way, I believe a studio to pick up and finish animes that never got finished would be very profitable.
So there would be no reason not to. I really got into The Asterisk War right from the start of the first season and right up to end of season 2. Really a major bummer that there may never be a season 3, I was kinda hoping that there was going to be another season after season 2. There was so much development threw out both season 1 & 2 as far as the two main characters and after season 2 it was like there was still too much of there story was still yet to be told. Hopefully one day someone will pickup the story where A-1 Pictures left off and least give a ending that will either surprise every one or give them the ending that most people are kinda hoping for.
